June 2013

Dear Friends,

Yes, okay, you've been hearing a lot from me lately, and technically the level of contact between us might now be considered stalking, but, you know, I wish I knew I how to quit you....

Anyway, the time has come to scatter for the summer (or the winter, as the case may be), and before we do, I had just one or two other things to mention before I let you go.

Did I tell you about this novella, THE WANDERER IN UNKNOWN REALMS? Oh, I did? Sorry. Still, last night in Belfast the lovely David Torrans at No Alibis was our host as illustrator Emily Hall and I discussed the book and signed the 750 copies of the limited edition. If you have ordered a copy from us or from one of the fine booksellers who are stocking it, that copy should be on its way to you in short order. If you have not yet ordered it, a few copies remain; information on how you can get your own copy is here. The ebook is now available in the UK and Commonwealth (except Canada), and will go on sale in the United States and Canada on June 25. While the hardcover edition is a collector's item, the e-book is quite affordable, and I hope it passes a pleasant hour or two.

Dubliners who could not get up to Belfast last night will have a chance to comment on my dress sense/ haircut/ dearth of charisma on Thursday, June 13, when I will be the year's first speaker at Trinity College Dublin's Innovation Cafe. The topic is "The book and the writer in the electronic age," and the talk, with time for questions, will go on for about an hour starting at 1:00 pm at 3 Foster Place, College Green. All are welcome, if you fancy doing something different with your lunch hour.

But wait, there's more! On June 22-23 I'll return to France—this time to the outskirts of Paris—for the annual Saint-Maur en Poche festival. And then it's home again for two events with Jeffery Deaver, scholar and gentleman, who will be discussing his new book THE KILL ROOM:

Tuesday, June 25 at 8:00 pm
Jeffery Deaver in conversation with John Connolly
DLR Spring Voices 2013 Series
Pavilion Theatre
Marine Road
Dun Laoghaire, Ireland
Tickets €10 & €8 concessions

Wednesday, June 26 at 7:00 pm

I should also mention that THE WRATH OF ANGELS is now available in a fine new paperback edition in the UK, and we're just starting to think about the schedule for this autumn, which will include a trip to Australia and New Zealand and a handful of appearances in the UK and Ireland for THE CREEPS and CONQUEST.

For now, though, I release you to play in the sunshine.

Missing you already.

Best wishes,
